We are advised by our UIS colleagues that we need to be on the lookout for document attachments in emails that instruct you to ‘Enable Editing’ and ‘Enable Content’.
These are scam emails linked to a piece of malware commonly known as Emotet/Heodo, which can lead to infections from other malware.
The email itself varies, in some cases mimicking a genuine email taken from a compromised University account.
If you’re in any doubt about an email attachment, or think you may have clicked on one of these links, please contact FSG System Support: fsg.system.support@admin.cam.ac.uk or contact the UIS Service Desk: https://help.uis.cam.ac.uk/contact-us.
