EU procurement regulations direct that certain tendering procedures should be followed by public bodies (including universities) making high value purchases greater than £181,302 (goods and services) and £4,551,413  (works)*. Although this University is currently not bound by these regulations, the Council is committed to following the required procedures in most cases. It may also be a requirement of funding bodies that the procedures will be followed. Only in exceptional circumstances can an exemption be given to set aside the procedures. See The EU Directives on Public Procurement section for more details.
