AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping - starting in February 2018 (to be confirmed)

The AAT Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping is a qualification designed to ensure students obtain a sound knowledge of bookkeeping. This suits a range of staff whether they wish to progress to further study or just develop their bookkeeping skills in their current role.

The AAT Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping will be run in-house with qualified and experienced lecturers. The programme will be run on a day release basis at Greenwich House, Madingley Road. Tutors will help students understand the study modules and provide practical examples. Books and online material for essential question practice will also be provided.

The programme will consist of 6 full day sessions, 2 half day revision sessions and 2 assessments. This will need to be supplemented by approximately 4 hours of home study per week.

The AAT Level 2 Foundation  Certificate in Bookkeeping is a recognised qualification in its own right and an excellent preparation for the AAT Level 3.

AAT Level 3 - Advanced Diploma in Accounting - starting September 2017

This level consolidates and builds upon the double-entry process that many students will have covered at Level 2 or via the AAT Certificate in Bookkeeping. It then introduces some basic costing concepts, explores VAT in more depth, introduces ethical concepts and builds on existing spreadsheet skills.

This year we are running an internal day-release programme at Greenwich House. Running from September 2017 - July 2018 the day release programme will consist of a total of 18.5 classroom days and 5 half-days for assessments. This will need to be supplemented by approximately 6-8home study per week.

The University's programme is centrally funded through the Finance Division and is open to members of staff in a University accounting role. You may also apply if you work in one of the University colleges, the University Press or Cambridge Assessment, although funding will be requested from your employer who may have their own criteria for joining the programme.

Please register your interest on the University Training Booking System (UTBS) and review the course syllabus and the briefing packs below for further information prior to making an application.
