Human volunteer studies and clinical trials

It is a requirement that the organisations carrying out or collaborating in research studies involving humans provide either an indemnity or insurance cover to provide compensation to any volunteer if they suffer harm caused by their participation in a study. The University arranges an annual policy which can provide cover for the majority of studies. Studies that meet certain criteria and overseas studies may incur an additional premium.

For further details and the application process please see the
Insurance Section website. [1]
