Finance Division

Following an in-depth review of the University’s approach to procurement and purchasing, which analysed 25 departments demonstrating a breadth of subjects and spend, the Strategic Procurement and Purchasing (SPP) project has now launched.

The SPP is a major component of the University’s Finance Transformation Programme – a drive to create a compelling new future for Finance across the University of Cambridge. SPP is also one of the University's 13 Recovery Programme projects and will ensure Cambridge obtains best value, sustainably responsible procurement deals whilst delivering positive cultural change, a new operating model, more user-friendly systems and processes, and enhanced opportunities for staff.

The SPP team has created a presentation which details how the project will enable the University to improve its approach to buying goods, works and services and the tangible benefits it will deliver for everyone from department support staff, procurement professionals and researchers, to Heads of Department and external suppliers.

Further information, the presentation and accompanying slides can be accessed here.
