Overview

The ability to upload a separate non-Chest ‘Plan’ budget to CUFS was piloted during Phase 2 of the Finance Information Delivery Framework project, to allow departments to differentiate between their  Chest ‘Allocation’ budget and a local ‘Plan’ budget – as required.

Current State

Following a review of the pilot outcomes, the project Steering Group has agreed that we can now take this initiative forward to a wider rollout.

The scope of the rollout shall be initially limited to only those areas who participated in the pilot phase, and will be extended throughout Phase 3 of the project to incorporate additional departments. This will continue to the end of FY16/17.

Should you wish to considered as one of the earlier adopters of this enhancement, please discuss with your School Finance Manager in the first instance.

Improvements to the upload process are also being made – which will allow departments to upload their ‘Plans’ for themselves (rather than have to submit to Central FP&A via their School Office). It is hoped that this enhancement will be available for testing in early 2017.

Further enhancements to CUFS and Cognos reporting to take advantage of this new ‘Plan’ information will also be made during Phase 3.
